Palpitations

Palpitations make you feel like your heart, missing a beat, or fluttering, is pounding too hard or too fast. In your chest, throat or neck, you can notice heart palpitations.

They can be bothersome or scary. However, they’re generally not extreme or damaging, and sometimes go away on their own. They’re triggered much of the time by anxiety and tension, or because you’ve had too much caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol. It can happen when you’re pregnant, too.

Treat palpitations with essential oils

If someone is experiencing palpitations, medical advice should be sought at the earliest opportunity. Inform the physician if you intend using essential oils to support any treatment given for palpitations.

Basic blend – inhalation

Lavender2 drops
Chamomile roman1 drop
Geranium2 drops

Blend the essential oils together and put 1 drop on a tissue and inhale as needed.

Basic Blend – massage

Lavender 8 drops
Chamomile roman5 drop
Lemon7 drops

Dilute in 1 fl. oz. (30 mL) of carrier oil, or use 2–3 drops of the essential oil blend in 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of carrier oil, and use half a teaspoon per application.

Other Essential Oils That Could Be Used to Treat This Condition: *valerian (Valeriana officinalis), *neroli (Citrus aurantium), *rose otto (Rosa damascena), *petitgrain (Citrus aurantium), *vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoides), *marjoram, sweet (Origanum majorana), *spikenard (Nardostachys jatamansi), *jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum/officinale)
