Because of the variation in dropper insert hole sizes, the following is only a
general guide:
MINIMUM– MAXIMUM DROPS OF ESSENTIAL OIL | INTO MILLILITERS OF CARRIER OIL | OR SPOON MEASUREMENTS OF CARRIER OIL |
0–1 drop | 1 | ⅕ teaspoon |
2–5 drops | 5 | 1 teaspoon |
4–10 drops | 10 | 2 teaspoons |
6–15 drops | 15 | 1 tablespoon |
8–20 drops | 20 | 4 teaspoons |
10–25 drops | 25 | 5 teaspoons |

CONVERSIONS: OUNCES AND MILLILITERS
Very often in this website is suggested blends diluted in 1 fluid ounce (fl. oz.), or 30 mL, of carrier oil. Because of the difficulties of conversion, this is slightly inaccurate; in 1 fl. oz. there are in fact 29.5735296875 mL. If you can, try to measure in milliliters because measuring small quantities is easier in Metric than it is in Imperial. For reference, here are the conversion rates.
To convert volumes in milliliters into fluid ounces:
1 mL | 0.03381 fl. oz. |
5 mL | 0.16907 fl. oz. |
10 mL | 0.33814 fl. oz. |
20 mL | 0.67628 fl. oz. |
30 mL | 1.01442 fl. oz. |
100 mL | 3.38140 fl. oz. |
To convert volumes in fluid ounces into milliliters:
¼ fl. oz. | 7.39338 mL |
½ fl. oz. | 14.78676 mL |
¾ fl. oz. | 22.18014 mL |
1 fl. oz. | 29.57352 mL |
